This month I read Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. It was a very interesting and different type of book. The book never got really good till the very end. Eggs is mostly about a nine year old boy named David and a thirteen year old girl named Primrose and their adventures together.

The two main characters David and Primrose were very different from each other. David was a very relaxed nine year old who lost his mom a year before meeting Primrose. Primrose was a free spirited girl who wanted to go on adventures and to sneak out of the house. Primrose would like David but then, give him a very hard time about something. For example, Primrose would tell David not to do something and David wouldn’t do it, but then David went and did something else and Primrose would still yell at him and get mad. David would get mad at Primrose but, he never really yelled at her.

The plot of Eggs was very confusing in my opinion. The plot never flowed until the very end and once the book got good it ended. Eggs also jumped around a lot. I have read some of Jerry Spinelli’s books and they were really good books but this just didn’t wow me. I also didn’t really get why the book was called Eggs. I understood the title at the beginning of the book but once I got more into the book it didn’t really talk about eggs.

I recommend this book if you like books that you can’t follow along with easily or if you like books that have different type of characters in it. If you like those kinds of books, this is right for you. Although, if you don’t, I wouldn’t recommend this book for you. Personally I give this book a three about of five rating.
