Recently my family and I went to a place in Sterling called Claude Moore.

At first, I thought that meant we were going to Claude Moore recreation center, which is a community center with swimming pools, rock climbing, and many other things. So, I was surprised when we arrived at Claude Moore Park and not the recreation center. I wasn’t very excited to go to the park because I thought it was going to be very boring, but I was mistaken.

Claude Moore Park is full of wooded lanes, green meadows, and sparkling ponds. There is a huge amount of open space in the park to maybe run around with your friends and family, have a little relaxation time, or just enjoy the beauty of the park. Also, there are eleven miles of hiking trails, two fishing ponds, two picnic pavilions which are available for rent, and a Sportsplex with baseball, softball and rectangular fields that are available for scheduled use.

If you are lucky enough, you may also catch a glimpse of a deer, ducks, and other wildlife that make their homes in the park’s habitats.

Because summer is almost here, I think Clause Moore is the perfect place to go with any of your friends and family. I would rate the park a 10 out of 10 and I definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for something to do over the summer.
