Have an unsettling odor in your house and want to get rid of it without spending a lot of money?, I have a way. During the Thanksgiving break, I have made a homemade air filter by spending only 37$ after an abhorrent stench that covered our home. We responded by attaching an HVAC air-filter onto a low price fan that obliterated the unpleasant smell. Although we tried it ourselves without a suggestion, we were not the only ones with this idea. Many YouTubers and bloggers have also tried to make one. One of them is “desertsun02.” The prototype he made was the closest to ours with the material. He referred to it as a ‘DIY’ project. But this blog isn’t about the craft that he made, it is about the ‘hack.’ Having a smell go away in an instant like that is an accomplishment. It took me only 15 minutes to make it. Here is what I used and how I did it…

The homemade air-filter is made and ready for use. The air filter provides an excellent solution to unpleasant smells in your house.

Inset the HVAC air filter vertically onto the box-fan, slowly starting from the bottom and moving to the top. Then, you are done!

What happened?

After using the homemade air filter you saved a lot of money! By using these materials only, you saved 135 dollars! That is why when you have an unpleasant aroma and you are on a low-budget, this solution might be the best option. The filter can remove up to 97% of all pollen, dust, mold, smoke, and smog. That’s why it is so great! Depending on which store you went to, to buy the HVAC and box-fan, you could make this homemade product using as low as 25 dollars! Although there are other ways to make a homemade air-filter, this one is still better for you because those require too much skill. This is the easiest and reliable way there is.

The science behind the hack

By making the homemade air filter you just helped your home and the environment. By buying expensive air filters you would be polluting chemicalized air to the ozone layer. The ozone layer is getting thinner and thinner, and at some point, it will break. By not buying one, and instead of making one, at least you wouldn’t be contributing to global destruction.

So now you know that this way of making the product was the easiest and most accessible. Some items on the list may already be in your house. Others that are not can make spend as low as 25 dollars. The air filter does not require to much skill. It is only 2 steps long. There are other ways of making one, but the way shown was superior as it wasn’t costly, didn’t take too much skill to make and did not harm the environment too much. Lastly, remember and share the lifehack to others if they have a problem with an unpleasant smell, and that the homemade air filter can get the job done.
